Let us host your school’s Family Code Night with the Hour of Code
Family Code Night is a whole-school, whole-family event at which kids grades K-5 and their parents do their first hour of computer programming – together! All you need at your location is a supportive Principal and a campus Organizer; we’ll handle the Presentation and even assist you with promotion to your families and the local community.
At this special evening of learning and fun, attendees will play in parent-child teams to complete fun Code.org puzzles and challenges at their own pace and be introduced to core concepts in coding in just one hour. Afterwards, everyone will leave with a special “Code On at Home” guide to continue coding puzzles, learning and fun at home.
No prior coding experience is needed; parents or teachers at your school who want to help out as Event Volunteers are welcome. And parents and kids with tech experience, or kids who have done the “Hour of Code” already, are encouraged to register as Code Coaches. We’ll send you an advance prep memo and we’ll meet up a few minutes early for orientation. Family Code Night is an innovative program by MV Gate.
